LAUTECH Alumni Stakeholders Donate Cash Gifts to Best Graduating Students

Eminent personalities and notable stakeholders of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Alumni Association, Ogbomoso, have donated cash gifts and other prizes to the institution’s best graduating students.

They made the donations on Wednesday during the university’s 18th Convocation Ceremony held at the school auditorium. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including members of the alumni association and other guests.

The gesture was described as a way of honouring academic excellence and reaffirming the alumni’s commitment to the development of the institution.

It was also lauded for rewarding exceptional brilliance that earned the recipients the distinction of Best Graduating Students.

Presenting the gifts separately, the stakeholders noted that the award of excellence is not a one-off gesture but a deliberate, sustained commitment to recognising and encouraging academic merit.

The Global President, Hon. Dr. Lekan Badmus, who donated N200,000 to each best graduating student across all departments, however emphasized the importance of education to societal development.

According to him, education is the backbone of our society, and we must recognise its importance in addressing societal needs and human development.

He added that the gesture demonstrates the association’s commitment to improving the welfare of staff and students of the university while providing opportunities for educational advancement.

Other donors included former Alumni President, Hon. Solomon Onilede; Prof. Adeyanju Ibrahim; and several others.

They urged the best graduating students to remain innovative and focused in their pursuit of success.
