LAUTECH ambassadors win NYSC presidential awards

Three products of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, have been awarded the NYSC Presidential Awards in their respective States of National Service, for impacting positively on their host communities.
They were awarded the honours on July 29, 2025, at a colorful ceremony held at the Aso Villa where the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented by the Minister for Youth Affairs, Mr. Ayodele Olawande.

The three amiable ambassadors of the University are:
Durodola Taiwo Joshua, who studied Electronic and Electrical Engineering and was deployed to Nasarawa State for NYSC,
Tella Quadri Idowu, who was in the Department of Medicine and Surgery, and posted to Adamawa State for his National Service and;
Ajewole Oluwatosin David, who studied Accounting and got deployed to Plateau State for NYSC.
It is on record that Durodola’s activities that qualified him for the National awards, included, embarking on the following projects with the support of members of his host community;
He invented a temperature measuring device (10 units) called (T-SMART) during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic as a non-pharmaceutical measure to fight against COVID-19. The device was commissioned by the then Director General of NYSC, Brig Gen Shuaibu lbrahim.
He donated one of the devices to NYSC Nasarawa State Secretariat while another was donated to the Federal Government College, Keffi.
Durodola also organised extra-mural classes in Mathematics and Physics for students in SS 1 and SS 2 in order to sustain their interest in Science Education and enhance performance
He provided technical support for the utility committee during the 2020 Batch 'A Orientation Course to ensure prompt resolution of electrical faults.
He handled the installation of fans in fourteen (14) Corps Members hostels during the 2020 Batch 'A' Orientation Course.
