LAUTECH team wins Seyi Makinde Football tournament

The male football team of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged the winner of the 3rd edition of the Governor Seyi Makinde Oyo State Tertiary Institution football tournament.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu to whom the trophy was presented yesterday by the team led by the Director of Sports, Mrs. Dorcas Olaosebikan, commended the coaches and the athletes and said LAUTECH was not only known for academic prowess but have also excelled in various sporting activities

He said the University will continue to encourage students' participation in sports.

The competition features 16 other higher institutions across Oyo State with the Gold medal keenly contested for by LAUTECH and Oyo State college of agriculture & Technology, Igboora, with LAUTECH eventuality emerging the winner.

At the end of the tournament, LAUTECH's goalkeeper was declared the best goalkeeper of the tournament while the team captain was invited
to join the 3SC football club of Ibadan.
